Typographica Projectorama was a studio I took in my final semester of study at RMIT.
As our final piece of work, we were tasked with designing a DVD cover and 12 double-sided cards that would pay homage to 1990s experimental graphic design; the focus of our studio.
The most important aspect of this design was encouraging sustained cognition. I also wanted to develop a design that highlighted my hands-on approach, and incorporated micro-compositions to elevate the design.
The final designs are essentially three posters (the traditional format of 1990s experimental design) that are re-purposed to become:
1- the DVD cover
2 & 3- a double-sided puzzle
The design encapsulates the core practices of experimental design that we explored throughout the semester and encourages the viewer to examine the artifact deeply to uncover all the information it holds.
